Blizzard and Charity

I named her Spiffles and she flaps glitter.

But I digress. Why aren't people happy when Blizzard tries to donate even a portion of their funds to charity?

This isn't the Cinder Kitten, no. 100% of the proceeds do not go towards Make A Wish. In fact, if you don't buy the pet, nothing goes to Make a Wish. The mount has nothing to do with charity other than the fact that if you bundle the pet and dragon, you get a 5 dollar discount.

In a way, that makes the pet free. You get the mount, you donate 5 dollars to charity, and the other 5 dollars that would have gone towards buying the pet is discounted completely. So you get a mount and donate some to MAW. Should make people happy, right?

Wrong.

Blizzard is obviously a great and terrible tyrant for only cutting 5 dollars to a charity. How dare they pay their designers for putting hard work into giving players a mini pet that gives you free booze and a dragon that changes colors on a whim, has a new /mountspecial animation, and sheds blue and purple sparkly glitter when it flaps. The designers obviously don't deserve extra for their hard work in making any of this come together into a new skin (though yes, it is the old drake skeleton but FAR from a simple recolor).

I'm with the people who want to say kudos to Blizzard for donating anything at all to Make A Wish, which is not a disaster relief, but something that they've taken a keen interest in over the years and has taken some of its requests quite seriously. Ashes of Al'ar, anyone? Even though they can't throw everything at every program out there, they also gave a link to the current disaster at the bottom of the Fey Dragon/Pet combo page. Stating that the company itself is also matching its employee donations to the relief efforts internally.

Nearly a Year Later

And what's changed? A lot. My hunter has changed servers twice. Factions once. I now have 3 of them. One 90 and two 85s. All three have Loque. I've been on various raid teams and have settled with one. I lost my old boyfriend and have a new one who's living with me currently. I lost my blog account and just recently got it back. A new expansion is coming to WoW. The RP guild I've been with for over a year died (with me as the leader, long story...). What am I going to do? I don't know. My boyfriend recently joined a friend's guild, they're 10/14 HM. He's now 9/14 HM and I'm 3/14 HM. (Immerseus, Protectors, Galakras), working on getting Dark Shamans (0.3% wipe last night). I'm now a Death Knight. I tried to swap off of my hunter and go healing on a monk, but that didn't work out so well. Hah. Not so well at all. I will never monk heal again in a raid. Ever. Ever. Eveeeer. Yes, it was that bad. Oh, and I'm 8 mounts away from the 200 mount achievement. Whoo!

So. Some people have a fear of spiders. Arachnophobia. Sometimes it's so acute that they can't even handle digital spiders.

I have a fear of deep water. And heights, but that one's not so bad in WoW. In life, I get vertigo very easily just standing on the first floor and looking out the window. I won't go close to a wall that has a window that touches the floor. But in WoW my water fear is really bad.

Anglers dailies was helping. It was like playing in a shallow puddle. Just getting used to it.

2012 Sucked. At Least I Have Cranes

Well. It's not like anyone's heard from me or expected much from me the past while. I don't even remember what I've missed talking about.

I got Glorious! today.

I moved my hunter once again. She has the wrong name. Blizzard pissed me off severely with their new BoA naming system... Basically, my boyfriend has the name I'm going to tack onto my hunter. I gave it to him. He's going to give it back to me. When I deleted his character with that name to free it up, I could only make a character with that name on his account. -.- Wasted money activating his account. Wasting money to buy a name change next month.

Last month was horrible. Thankfully I've good friends. To sum it up, my mom passed from cancer early of last month, made the holidays especially chaotic. I moved between states and I should be in my brand new apartment this time next week while agonizing over when they money will run out cause I don't have a job yet. Always fun.

In moving, my computer broke. The DVD player died and had to be replaced, my graphics card died upon the computer being turned on, and something else died that I am forgetting about. My cat had a $300 vet visit. I found out some hick shot him in the back. He now has an intact bullet in his back. My grandparents are amazing and said that if I ever found out who shot my cat, it would be worth a visit back to Idaho to put a bullet in their back and see how they like it. No wonder I'm a hunter.

*phew*

So. Let's see if I can't get back into the swing of things.

Guess who got exalted with Golden Lotus today? Well it wasn't me-- Okay, that's a lie. I totally got exalted with them.
